Moving

Our wonderful and dear neighbors have officially moved. This past weekend was moving day. This next weekend we suspect our new neighbor will move in.

The girls' absolutely adore Katie, Steve and their little girl. The girls' would often want to go to Katie & Steve's to show or tell them something cool that is going on in their lives. They were the first one's to see their new umbrella's recently earned as potty rewards. Just last night we got home from the store where the girls' found their perfect Halloween costumes. Of course they had to wear them home, in the van, while in their car seats, in the heat. Didn't phase them, they were wearing their costumes. Steve was at their "old house" taking out their remaining trash (to our curb, lol) and the girls hopped out of the van and RAN to show Steve their costumes. As usual, Steve was gracious enough to be very interested. They wanted to show Katie, but she wasn't there so we promised that we'd take them to show their costumes to Katie another day. Katie and Steve were way more than neighbors to the girls'.

Earlier this week Katie let us take the girls' inside their old and empty house. We thought it would be good for the girls to see the next phase of the move. Right away Ellie throws up her arms and says, "Where is all their stuff?” The girls have seen their new house when it was empty so we explained that all their stuff is at their new house. They seem to really be getting it and are okay with it. Now hopefully the girls' wont be ringing the new neighbor's doorbell all the time, or at least not until we get to know him. We'll just have to drive to their new house so the girls' can ring their new doorbell a zillion times.

It is sad to see them move, but we know they are excited and happy to have a new place to call home. Someday soon we'll do the same.

Along with this big move and big change comes another big move. Carie's folks are gearing up to move and all the girls' have ever known is their current house. The folks recently put a bid on a house and it was accepted. They've sold their old house as well. Now we are just waiting until moving day. We've taken the girls by the new house and talked about how Grandpa and Yia Yia are moving from Ceresco to Lincoln. They seem all on board with it all and can't wait to really see the new house. We'll likely take the girls' out to Ceresco again before the move to say goodbye to the old house. We'll probably say goodbye to a lot of things on our drive to their old house... the pastures of corn, the farmhouses, the animals, and most definitely the water tower. The new route won't be as spectacular to the eyes, but I'm sure we will find new things to look at.

Sorry you're losing your wonderful neighbors! Hopefully the new ones are great as well.
I am sure g'ma and g'pa moving will be hard... especially if it's such a great drive just to get there! But I am sure they'll be fine.
So, what will the girls be this year? Any costume for Spencer?
