The Boy Moves
We have entered phase one of the boy's mobility. The boy is 4 months old today and this past week he's really been working on rolling. He's made it as far as his side for quite some time, but never all the way. He can now roll from his tummy to his back and is nearly successful at rolling from his back to his tummy. If he can figure out the arm thing, he'll have it mastered. I'm sure the continuous rolling is in our near future.
He really seems to like tummy time. He's got amazing head control, and hey... the drool goes straight down while you are on your tummy, bypassing the shirt. A very good thing since he's a drool monster. You'd think he was teething, but he's been this drooly for a couple of months. Somewhere along the line he's earned the nickname bubble boy. I doubt he’ll appreciate that down the road.
The scary thing is that while on his tummy he seems to be working on getting his legs underneath him. I noticed this yesterday and while I'm excited for his development and accomplishment... we are not ready for him to be that mobile yet. My Mom keeps reminding me that one of my brother's was walking by 9 months and riding his bike without training wheels and jumping ramps by age 2.
Mobile or not, he’s the cutest boy we’ve laid eyes on, but of course we are biased.

oh good god. i would run screaming if i had a kid who could walk at 9 months. i still think 10 months was waaaay too soon. and i'm going to do all within my power to make sure that this kid stays put...for a bit longer. he is getting his knees under him though...and i saw him up on hands and knees yesterday...and was quite scared...til he fell right over. thank god. so not ready just yet for a moving child.
