Potty Success
We knew she could do it, and she did. Ellie went three whole days without an accident!!!
So, yesterday after school we went out to lunch and then off to shop for the coveted umbrella. Of course Abby reaped the reward as well. She hadn't had an accident either, but that is now more the norm for her.
That morning, while the girls' were in school and Spencer was at home with me, Carie went out shopping to scope out the best store to take the girls to. We (the mom's) weren't really excited about the Dora and Bob the Builder selection that initiated the whole umbrella obsession, but would go with it if it really had to be. We also didn't want to find ourselves in a situation of negotiating leaving one store without the umbrella to go to another store, knowing that that wouldn't go over so well. Well, Carie was successful in the umbrella department and then enjoyed some shopping time for herself. Woohoo!!
So after lunch we head to the store. Spencer was taking a much-needed nap so the girls' and I went in while he and Carie stayed in the van. It was the shortest shopping trip we've ever had with the girls. We went in, found the umbrella’s, they immediately picked out what they wanted, we paid and were out of there. I didn't even get a chance to show them all their options. They knew immediately what they wanted and they both picked the same thing. They saw pink and that was that. They are a very girly pink with hearts, flowers, other girly prints on them, and a ruffle thing around the edge. Neither one has said a thing about the Dora or Bob the Builder umbrella. As we suspected, it was all about the umbrella and not the character that they don't even know. I didn't even have to negotiate leaving the store without a balloon, which is saying a lot. They were on a mission and they were quite satisfied. Of course we barely get through the check out line before they had their umbrella’s popped open. It was quite cute to see them walking across the parking lot holding their umbrella's.
