Eggs Eggs Eggs
Egg coloring festivities went very well. Everyone had a great time and not one single cup was spilled! Though, we did have an abundance of overly excited helpers in the beginning. We didn't read the directions as we needed to and mixed the red incorrectly leaving us with no red egg coloring. They were so excited with anticipation that we needed to forge ahead. What we had turned out beautifully!
We ended up coloring eggs in two phases. The first phase included Spencer. He was having a great time, but he's not yet two. If he had his way he would have colored all four dozen eggs in 30 seconds flat, whereas the girls were on the 60 second pace.
He probably would have also enjoyed eating all the eggs right then and there. He loves eggs!
Yes, he dyed the egg, dropped it, then broke it in half and ate it.
Thank you Mommy for removing all the shell pieces!
The second phase was completed without Spencer's assistance. Thankfully I was handing them eggs as they needed them and they had no idea how many were left. We got to a point where it seemed like a good idea to take a break so we pretended to be done coloring eggs and switched gears to jammie time. Thankfully the girls quickly caught on to our new idea and they went with it. After Mommy took Spencer up for bed the girls’ and I watched the remainder of Unwrapped while Mommy & Spencer got settled into their routine. We then finished our egg dying activities. They enjoyed having their time to coloring the remaining eggs without Spencer’s excited little hands.
Cue discussions about the Easter Bunny! This year they are increasingly curious about the Easter Bunny details. Where will we put the eggs for the bunny, how will the bunny find them, where will he hide them, etc...
Thankfully the discussion... "How the Easter Bunny can't possibly get the sole item (a soda pop girl) Abby would love to find in her Easter basket because animals aren't allowed in stores"... wasn't brought up again.
