The Rooster Debate
Yesterday afternoon Ellie was quite distraught. They were talking about Roosters and what letter Rooster started with.
Ellie was absolutely certain that it started with the letter H. Abby & Carie were trying to gently convince her otherwise. They would say and sound out Rooster with emphasis on the R. In the mean time, Ellie was still trying to convince them that it started with the letter H.
Carie was a bit perplexed. Generally speaking both girls' have become really good at figuring out what letter different words start with. They have made a game out of it and it has become a favorite activity. But this time, Ellie was just not on board.
Finally Ellie told Carie and Abby to wait as she went to get her Alphabet book. They have a ton of books; I'm not even sure which book she is talking about. But she found it rather quickly, opened it up, and turned to the page with the letter H. She was quite proud that she had just proved that Rooster started with the letter H.
Yeah, it was a picture of a Hen.
Lesson number 2: Discuss the difference between Hens and Roosters.

What a smart, smart girl you have there. Actually, they are both smart. This is a great story!
I had a feeling that's what she was meaning. :)
Smart girl!
Thats a classic story. Very clever kids you have :-)
I love it! You're so smart Ellie!
That was precious!!! My twins are just starting to debate every living thing, too. When the nuh-uh's and yuh-huh's aren't driving you insane, it's really pretty amusing, isn't it?
These girls are just so smart. I really love reading their stories.
Thanks for sharing.
