Proud Moment
Last night we went to dinner with some friends. It was quickly and clearly evident that we had gone far to long between visits. Our kids had changed so much! Well, Mr. Spencer has made himself his first friend.
Their daughter is 18 months old and Spencer is 10 months old. They checked each other out, talked to each other, she touched him nicely, Spencer pounded on her, she shared her cheerios, and he tried to steal her sippy cup. They totally made each other laugh. They really seemed to connect in a way I've not seen him connect with anyone. Sure, he plays with the girls and follows them all over the place. But finally he had someone more his size (ha) and closer to his age that was interested in him. They were able to communicate on a more similar level.
My proud moment comes when our son teaches their daughter to drop (or throw actually) her cup to the floor so Mommy can pick it up. I was shocked to hear that she was not privy to that game. Don't all babies play that game? Well, she caught on pretty darn quick and they both thought it was hilarious.
