Brown Day
Nearly every week since the beginning of the school year, their classes have celebrated "color days". On a certain day the students, and staff, celebrate and learn about a certain color by wearing items of that color, doing projects with that color, and even eating snacks of that color.
The earlier weeks of the year were easy colors, for us... pink, purple, yellow, red, green, blue, orange, white, and black. This last Tuesday was the last color day on the list, and it was brown day. This was the hardest color for us and it appeared to be difficult for many of the other classmates as well. Super Mommy came to the rescue! Carie made the girls leaves out of brown construction paper and we pinned them to their bright green & orange shirts. Way to go Mommy!
After picking them up from school, Carie asked the girls' what they had for a snack. They couldn't remember, not terribly unusual. So Carie starts guessing things. Still not striking any memories... Carie asked if they had Kix for a snack. Abby said well, it was round like Kix but brown like dog food. But it was yummy!
Hmmmm... Carie thought about this for a bit and guessed maybe it was Cocoa Puffs. The girls' decided that was it. Outside of school, these girls' have never had Cocoa Puffs. Or maybe I should say, with us they have never had Cocoa Puffs. Carie checked their school binders later and discovered it was indeed Cocoa Puffs.
That could be the cereals new slogan... round like Kix but brown like dog food!

They were really tring hard to find the brown snack. I would have chose Whole wheat toast. Carie was really on the ball with their outfits. Sounds cute.

Not really a very good 'snack' (coming from someone who is, at this moment, eating corn pops. Hey, I found a lone neglected box while cleaning out cabinets! It hadn't been opened, so it's still safe, if not healthy) but very funny description!
