Moving Right Along
What a crazy few weeks... and life keeps moving right along.
Grandpa & Yia Yia are moved! We had a farewell family dinner on Thursday, November 1st. The movers arrived Friday morning and they headed out of dodge later that afternoon. Unfortunately the movers didn't move as quickly as anticipated and their departure was delayed by several hours. But they got on the road and made the long journey to their new home safely. The trek was a long one for them, caravanning with a moving truck through the mountains. They arrived to their final destination Sunday afternoon, in time to rest and recover at the hotel before the movers arrived Monday morning. Thankfully the movers on the unloading end moved more swiftly.
Yia Yia has since sent some letters and packages to the kids. Abby, Ellie & Spencer think it is pretty cool to get mail from Yia Yia. They have thoroughly enjoyed the pictures, the post cards, the letters, and the new books! Grandpa & Yia Yia will certainly be missed as we celebrate Thanksgiving without their presence. Just last night we were talking (again) about our Thanksgiving plans with the kids and someone said something about celebrating with Grandpa & Yia Yia's. I wish we could, I really wish we could.
We've also recently experienced a great loss with the passing of Ashley due to a tragic auto accident. Throughout a weeks time she fought for her life. At 12 years 1 month and 14 days she lived a very fulfilling life. We just wish she was able to be with us, here on earth, longer. Her service was incredible and very moving. I've been to many funerals but none quite like this one. Our hearts go out to her family. They are amazing people with incredible faith. I can't imagine the pain they must be feeling.
