The boy can use the potty.
The boy doesn't care to use the potty.
Unless candy is involved.
Go potty - 2 candies?!?!?!?
If you don't verbally confirm the 2 candies part, the go potty part is stalled until it is confirmed. This morning he initiated the "go potty - 2 candies?" Then he proceeded to lay there until Carie confirmed that he could have 2 candies if he went potty. He didn't really want to go potty, he just wanted the candies since I had already thwarted his pleads several times.
He's also working the system. Go potty, 2 candies, go potty, 2 candies until the well runs dry.
Thank goodness 2 candies = 2 jelly beans.

hello! long time lurker here. your kids are adorable! pull atool up to the big pottie, raise the seat and throw some cherrios in there. there is something about the ability to point and aim that even wins out over candy!

Audrey has discoverd "ten treat". We were giving her a treat for sitting on the potty while we counted to ten, just to get her to sit on the potty. Sometimes she'd go, sometimes not. But now she asked for a ten treat and sits on the potty barely long enough for us to count to ten. We've now limited the ten treat to once a day. But, she still gets two treats when she pees, and somehow we've also added in "hot chocolate" which is really just chocolate soy milk. But hey, she's going on the potty and that's all that matters. We'll figure out how to wean her from the treats and hot chocolate later.
