Happy Birthday Spencer
Happy 2nd Birthday to our sweet boy!
The "theme" of his 2nd birthday is sports. He loves all things sports and once he's exposed to a sport, he's addicted. We've been known to record a game, or two - or more, to keep our sports addict content.
Basketball is his absolute first love. Everything is "BBall".
"He shoots, he scores!"
Recently he's become enthralled with baseball and that is clearly his second love. Now when we play catch with any ball he claps his hands together before holding them out to receive the toss. This isn't a "horray look at me" kinda clapping. There seems to be some meaning or purpose to it. I'm sure he's picked that up from watching baseball. Surely those grown men beating their hand into their glove must do something for their ability to catch the ball! It probably won't be long before he starts grabbing his crotch or patting his friends on the rear.
Keeping his pitching choice under wraps!
Friday evening we went to The Amazing Pizza Machine. We only go there for special occasions, and this seemed to be one of them. The kids were beyond excited when they found out where we were going! We did our usual rides and games (frog hopper, wild ride, spaghetti bowling, basketball, etc...) but then we also took the kids on their first race car ride. Spencer was tall enough, by an inch, to ride with one of us and he absolutely loved it. He climbed right in, buckled up, and was ready to go. Both of the girls had a blast and would have ridden over and over and over again if they could have. The next morning both Carie and I discovered that our backs paid the price for bouncing around on the race track. After having a lot of fun we returned to the dining area for dessert before heading home. Unusually high sugar amounts were consumed in a very short period of time! We all had an awesome, fun filled, family evening. I know Carie and I were exhausted by the end of the night, but it was a good exhausted.
Saturday afternoon we opted to pull out the cupcakes for our little family celebration. Those poor cupcakes, the one's that had been sitting on the counter for a couple of days, were poked with candles many times over. All three of them started with 2 candles in each of their cupcakes. Once Abby & Ellie were done with their candles, Spencer hijacked them and added some more to his cupcake. Quite fitting if you ask me. The boy may only have just turned 2, but he most certainly thinks he is at least 4.

Happy Birthday Spencer!!!! Wow, I can't believe he's 2 already. He looks so grown-up in those pictures. :)
