The Coffee Party
The girls' have really gotten into imaginative play on a whole new level recently. It is SO fun to watch them take miscellaneous toys or objects and entertain themselves, together, for quite a long time... long enough for 3 year olds.A few weeks ago the girls' decided to have a party. We had just finished dinner; or rather they were finished with dinner. They had asked to be excused and promptly went on their merry way.
Soon we see them busily taking bowls and dishes from the cupboard and disappearing. They'd come back to get another armload... then they'd disappear again. Working together they quickly came and left several times over. They remained focused and intent on accomplishing this task. Focus like we've never seen!
After a couple of trips, Carie and I began to wonder what they were up to. It looked harmless, so we enjoyed the rest of our dinner before really investigating. On one of the trips into the kitchen, we asked the girls' what they were doing. We were told, "We are having a coffee party!" Hmmmm... sounds intriguing. How do they know about coffee, we wondered.
We then went to check out this coffee party. We found the girls, and many of our baking dishes, on Abby's bed where they were sipping coffee out of measuring cups.
