The Boy - 3 1/2

You are about to turn 3 1/2.

I'm not sure if you realize or appreciate this fact as you regularly don't act or look your age.





















Last weekend we had family photos taken while Grandpa & Yia Yia were visiting. We (meaning your Mommy and I) had decided that we'd keep it simple for the family photos and order everyone to wear denim and black. Beware, that is just what older sisters do!

While we were there, we decided to give your 3 1/2 year photos a shot. We like to get your 1/2 year pictures taken near your actual 1/2 year birthday fully knowing that we'll take a bazillion more pictures in just 6 short weeks. Unfortunately though, with all the craziness we forgot (until well after the fact) that we were going to take in a different shirt for your individual photo. This shirt works fine and after all you are clothed. And as we know, being unclothed would have been completely unacceptable to you. I'm certain that you would have announced to the whole studio that "we lost your clothes" if we would have even suggested that you didn't wear a shirt, any shirt. Maybe when you are older you'll understand the whole shirts vs. skins thing the boys do when they play football. Because really, all those boys did not lose their clothes.

So besides the simplicity of the shirt and the drab background, I think these images reflect the joy you bring to our lives... on a minute by minute basis.
