Not Again
Unfortunately Ellie had another time out in pre-school today. Want to take a guess on what she did?
Yep, she hit another pre-school friend today. So that brings the score to 2 for Ellie (all in a the same week) and 0 for Abby... but who's keeping score. LOL
Well when they were younger and Abby would beat up on Ellie we were quite excited when Ellie started whomping on Abby. We DID keep that excitement to ourselves as we redirected and reprimanded that behavior. Some kids are hitters/biters and some aren't... both of our girls' are. It's not like WE go around the house hitting and biting each other :).
Seriously though, we need to get to the bottom of what's going on so this trend doesn't continue. The impression Carie got from her teachers was that a friend was "asking" her to do something and she didn't want to. Now remember that there is only 1 other student in her class that has language skills developed enough to actually ask her. So I'm wondering if the other student used his/her hands (in an appropriate way) to communicate with Ellie and Ellie got defensive of her personal space. We definitely need to reinforce what she needs to do when she's frustrated and needs help.
I hope this stops and soon but I also hope that it is limited to hitting and they refrain from biting.
