The girls have taken to their new bikes like ducks to water.

Within the first 30 minutes of having the bikes out, Ellie crashed hers. No big surprise!

Both of the girls are doing really well on their new bikes. It seemed to help that we took them to a big parking lot to practice. It gave them a lot of room to maneuver and work on the peddling.

Carie has been teaching them how their brakes work. To us, it seems that this would be a necessary skill to learn.

Abby was all about experimenting with her brakes. She would peddle, peddle, peddle, and then break. Then she would do it all over again. She was doing great at peddling, breaking, then getting herself going again from a completely stalled position. Abby's really got it down.

Then there's Ellie. She doesn't really care to know how to break. It doesn't seem to be a skill that is of priority to her. She is more interested in going faster. She totally leans into it!
