Christmas Tree oh Christmas Tree...
...oh how I've grown so fond of thee.
Thanks to Carie, the Christmas tree has been down for a week or so. It wasn't "put away" yet; it was sitting in a big pile in the middle of the great room. Carie had a great plan to use this new bag thingy that she found. Unfortunately that didn't work out so well and retrieving the tree box from storage was necessary, which the girls and I did Saturday afternoon.
Carie and I get around to moving the tree pieces into the box last night and Spencer had a cow over the thought of putting the Christmas tree away. He wanted it back up and wouldn't let Carie even think about shutting the flap to the box. Clearly he had become attached to having a tree in our house and no amount of reasoning was working. It seemed to be okay that it was in a big pile, but boxing it up was the last straw!
Thankfully the distraction technique worked, but then he started talking about pumpkins. I avoided the pumpkin conversation in fear of where that was going. He's been talking about trick-or-treating alot lately. We've got a long time before Halloween!
We were able to get the tree put away, box all taped up and out to the garage. All Christmas decorations are now removed from inside the house. Yay! If the snow ever thaws and the temps get above the freezing mark (preferably well above freezing) we might be able to take the lights off the house.
Hopefully Spencer is able to let go of the tree because we won't be putting it back up until next Christmas!
